Intraocular Lens Implantation Package

These lenses can be used to correct severe nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, which cannot be corrected by refractive laser surgical procedures. In this procedure, an intraocular lens is permanently implanted in the eye, but it can be removed by another surgical procedure at any time.

Surgical Procedure

Intraocular lens implantation is performed through a complete surgical procedure in the operation room, but there is no need for hospitalization before and after the surgery. After anesthesia, which is usually performed in the form of general anesthesia, the surgeon makes a corneal incision, and then inserts the intraocular lens into the anterior chamber, in front of the iris and the natural eye lens. Finally, the incision is sutured delicately.

Post-Operative Care

The sutures are removed 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.
You may feel a slight eye pain within a few days after the surgery.
Your final visual outcomes will be achieved after suture removal.
Bathing, swimming, doing exercises, doing your everyday activities, and traveling under the supervision of your ophthalmologist are permitted.

People who can be treated with refractive laser eye surgical procedures.

Who Are Good Candidates for Intraocular Lens Implantation

People with severe myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, who cannot be treated with refractive laser eye surgical procedures.

Pre-Operative Preparation

Avoid eating and drinking at least 12 hours before surgery.
Avoid wearing makeup on the day of surgery.
Cleanse your face, eyelids and eyelashes on the day of surgery.

Surgical Equipment

The surgery is performed under general or local anesthesia, in the intraocular operating room of Noor Subspecialty Eye Hospital using the most advanced surgical equipment.
