In Femto-LASIK Surgery, very thin corneal incisions (corneal flaps) are created accurately using an ultra-fast femtosecond laser. After the flap has been created the surgeon lifts it with a specially designed instrument. The Excimer laser is then used to shave away thin slices of the cornea and in doing so correct refractive errors. At the end of the procedure, the flap is replaced in its original position.
